'Rio is a quarter horse stallion, the son of one of my mares, and father of another. He was part of a large scale rescue and came into my care for a short period. We connected immediately and he is one of the nicest horses I have ever known, a true gentleman and a glorious free spirit. I miss him every day.
 
This painting was inspired by one of the monthly challenges set for the Paard Verzameld Collective of artists, and I loved painting it.'
